Business Development Manager

Responsibilities:

Revenue & Growth:

  • Own and deliver regional revenue targets across e-Auction (service charges) and Membership verticals.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of new clients through online research, field visits, and networking.
  • Ensure 100% renewal of existing client contracts and maintain long-term relationship continuity.
  • Actively identify, engage, and close deals with prospective buyers and sellers.
  • Meet annual targets broken down into quarterly, monthly, and weekly milestones.
  • Cultivate auction opportunities in new product categories: assess market demand, onboard buyers and sellers, and launch pilots to learn and establish new markets for the business.

Client & Auction Management:

  • Co-plan and oversee auction execution with clients, in close collaboration with the operations team.
  • Conduct regular market analysis to ensure benchmark pricing for sellers, buyers, and clients.
  • Address client needs proactively and resolve escalations quickly to maintain satisfaction and retention.
  • Plan, monitor, and optimize listed auctions to improve conversion rates.
  • Team Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and enable BD executives to achieve their qualitative and quantitative targets.
  • Set clear, streamlined processes for the team to consistently hit goals.
  • Distribute auction and business targets across the team; monitor progress and course-correct as needed.
  • Identify and develop future leadership talent within the team; delegate responsibilities to build capability.
  • Strategy & Market Intelligence
  • Track competitor activity and market trends; translate insights into actionable BD strategies.
  • Conduct field visits, gather market feedback, and share findings with senior leadership.
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing and operations to ensure seamless client experience.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of the industrial secondary products market, including auction mechanics and pricing dynamics.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills — able to motivate a team and drive accountability.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills in English (written and verbal).
  • Analytical mindset — comfortable using data to manage pipeline, forecast revenue, and measure team performance.
  • Proficient with Excel, Google Sheets/Docs, Slack, and CRM platforms.
  • Willingness to travel for field visits and client meetings across assigned locations.
